Billing

Billing & usage.

Per-agent pricing, the free trial, seats and proration, pooled calling minutes, and what happens at 80 % and 100 % of your monthly usage.

Per-agent pricing

You pay per agent (per seat), per month, on one of three plans: Starter, Growth and Enterprise. Current prices are on /pricing.

  • Annual billing costs ten times the monthly price: two months free.
  • No setup fee, no hardware, no per-feature add-ons.
  • Volume pricing: talk to us from /contact.

What each plan includes

These are the plan defaults; /pricing always shows the current plans.

Free trial

Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial.

  • Without a card: up to 5 seats, 300 outbound minutes, 1 phone number, calls within your home country, no predictive dialing. Softphones switch on once the owner's email is verified.
  • With a card: signing up with more than 5 agents (or with a disposable email address) goes through checkout first. The trial is the same 14 days, without the card-less limits.

In the last days of a card-less trial, a banner reminds you to subscribe. If the trial ends without a card, the workspace is paused: the owner can still sign in to Billing and subscribe to resume it, and everyone else sees a paused screen.

Seats

A seat is one person who can take calls: every agent and supervisor, plus owners and admins with Takes calls on. Invited users hold a seat; disabled users don't. See Agents & the workspace.

Change seats in Billing with the − and + buttons.

  • Adding seats is charged right away, prorated for the rest of the billing period, and raises your pooled minutes immediately.
  • Removing seats gives a prorated credit on your next invoice. You can't go below the number of seats in use: disable users first.
  • The dialog previews the prorated amount before you confirm.

When Team runs out of seats, users who can manage billing get an Add seats button that opens this dialog with the right number filled in and returns them to Team afterwards.

Changing plan or billing interval

Change plan checks what the new plan would break before you confirm.

  • Blockers must be fixed first, and the dialog offers the fix where there is one: more numbers than the plan allows, campaigns using a dial mode the plan doesn't include, active API keys or webhook endpoints on a plan without them, numbers routed to an IVR on a plan without IVR, or seats outside the plan's range.
  • Warnings need a confirmation: recordings that a shorter retention will delete, supervisor features you'd lose, campaigns using voicemail drop.

You can switch from monthly to annual yourself. To go from annual back to monthly, contact support from the app.

Pooled minutes

Each plan includes calling minutes per seat. The whole team shares them:

pool = minutes per seat × seats

Example: 12 agents on Growth share 12 × 600 = 7,200 minutes a month.

  • Minutes count inbound and outbound calls in the US and Canada.
  • They're measured on the customer's side of each call and rounded up to the whole minute per call. For inbound calls, time in the IVR and the queue counts too.
  • The month is the calendar month in UTC. Unused minutes don't roll over.
  • There are no overage charges: at the limit, outbound calling stops instead (see below).

The Overview page shows a usage meter, and Billing shows minutes used against the pool.

Carrier-spend ceiling

Next to the minutes, each plan sets a monthly ceiling on estimated carrier spend, per seat. It mainly catches the costs that minutes don't measure: the persistent lines that power and predictive agents keep open, and destinations that cost more to call. Billing shows spend against the ceiling. Whichever of the two limits you reach first applies.

At 80 % and 100 %

Fieldtypedescription
80 %WarningOwners, and admins who manage billing, get an email and an in-app notification, and the usage meters show a warning. Nothing stops.
100 %Outbound stopsNew outbound calls, callbacks, external transfers and API originates are refused with USAGE_LIMIT. Campaigns stay active but idle with the reason usage_limit. Another email goes out.

At 100 %, agents see: "This month's calling minutes are used up. Outbound calling resumes when seats are added or next month starts." (or "This workspace reached its monthly calling limit." when the spending ceiling was reached).

What keeps working: inbound calls, internal transfers and supervisor monitoring are never blocked by usage.

How outbound comes back:

  • Add seats. The pool and ceiling grow immediately.
  • Next month. Usage resets on the first of the month, UTC.
  • Ask support. The operator can raise your limits.

A card-less trial also stops outbound calling at its 300-minute trial cap.

Invoices and payments

Billing lists your invoices; open one for a printable copy. Update the card from Payment method.

If a payment fails, the workspace enters a 7-day grace period with a banner for everyone, while the payment is retried. After the grace period, outbound calling, campaigns and API writes stop until the invoice is paid; inbound calls keep working. If payment still fails, the workspace is suspended: the owner can sign in to Billing to fix it, and everyone else sees a paused screen.

Who can manage billing: owners and admins, or owners only when Only owner manages billing is on in Settings.

Cancellation

The owner can cancel from Billing. The subscription runs until the end of the paid period and can be undone until then.

After cancellation:

  • the owner can still sign in to Billing and export data for 30 days;
  • phone numbers are released after 30 days;
  • workspace data is deleted after 90 days.

A workspace that stays suspended for 30 days is canceled the same way.
